Tag Symbols

On one-line diagrams, each tag type may have a distinct icon. The background color of a tag indicates the tag’s priority, and only one priority can be assigned to a tag type. However, you can also configure the tags to be viewed on the one-line display by color only, which is similar to the tag’s representation in eterrabrowser 3.6. For information about configuring tag symbols, refer to the Display Builder User’s Guide.

Note: On tabular displays, only the tag representation in eterrabrowser 3.6 is offered in this release.

An object can have multiple tags. If you choose to use the color only option, the number of tags is shown on the symbol multi_tag_symbo_color. If you choose to use distinct symbols for different tag types, a multi-tag symbol is shown and the tag with the highest priority is shown on the top multi_tag_symbol.

Multiple-Select and Deselect of Objects

If an object does not have a keyset attached to it, and the virtual key for the keyset is not mapped to “left mouse down” in the keymap, clicking on an object selects it.

To select multiple objects, press and hold Ctrl while clicking multiple objects with the left mouse button.

To remove a selected object from the selection list, press Ctrl and click the object again.

To deselect all objects, click the background of the display or press Escape.

Showing Tags in Single-Line Diagrams and Tabular Displays

Regardless of whether you have read permissions for the TAGGING application, tag symbols are always shown on SCADA displays.

The old tag representation is shown on certain tabular displays. The tag symbols need to be added at display build time.

Managing the Visibility of Tags on Single-Line Diagram Displays

The tags shown on a one-line diagram display can be filtered using the options available in the Tag Filter window, which can be accessed from the toolbar.

Figure 3: Filtering Tags on a One-Line Diagram

Using the Tag Filter window, tags can be filtered by Tag Type (Do Not Operate, Alarm Inhibit, etc.). These filter options affect the tags shown on the display. The first row in the Tag Filter window is the default filter, which applies to all tag types.

In the Tag Filter window (Figure 4), you can specify additional filtering options by clicking the “+” or “-” buttons to add or remove rows, and you can configure the filter settings by editing the Tag Type for the filter. Adding a row for a specific tag type overrides the setting specified by the default “All” tag type filter setting.

After applying the filter in Figure 4, only Prevent Setpoint tags are visible on the one-line Message ID Meaning and Actions display and a filter symbol is shown in the top-right corner of the display to indicate that a tag filter is active.
