Setting Statuses of Alternate Values

This section explains how to make alternate values (analogs and accumulators) available or unavailable.

Setting Alternate Analog Availability

Some analog readings in the EMS are available from multiple sources (i.e., telemetry, calculation). The following procedure describes how to make a particular source for an analog available or unavailable. The data presented on the operator displays (i.e., one-lines, tabulars) is selected from the sources that are available. The various sources of an analog are evaluated the next time the analog is scanned.

  1. Call up the Alternate Measurements display, and click the Analog radio button.

The Analog view of the display appears, listing each analog and its available alternates. The alternates are listed with the most preferred source at the top.

To determine the source for a particular alternate, position the cursor on the current value and click the Flags button.

A pop-up indicates the source of the alternate value.

To toggle the availability of a particular alternate, click its Available button to put it in the desired state.

The button’s state determines whether or not the alternate is “available” or “not available”. The next time the analog changes, its sources are re-evaluated to determine which value to present to the operator.

Setting Alternate Accumulator Availability

Some accumulator readings in the EMS are available from multiple sources (i.e., telemetry, calculation). The following procedure describes how to make a particular source for an accumulator available or unavailable. The data presented on the operator displays (i.e., one-lines, tabulars) is selected from the sources that are available. The various sources of an accumulator are evaluated the next time the accumulator is scanned.

  1. Call up the Alternate Measurements display, and click the Accumulator radio button.

The Accumulator view of the display appears, listing each accumulator and its available alternates. The alternates are listed with the most preferred source at the top.

To determine the source for a particular alternate, position the cursor on the current value and select Flags.

A pop-up indicates the source of the alternate value.

To toggle the availability of a particular alternate, click its Available button to put it in the desired state.

The button’s state determines whether or not the alternate is “available” or “not available”. The next time the accumulator changes, its sources are re-evaluated to determine which value to present to the operator.
