Requesting Demand Scans

The following section describes procedures that relate to issuing a demand scan for an entire substation, or for issuing a demand scan on an individual point or analog.

Demand Scan of Substation from a Tabular

A demand scan can be requested for an entire substation. A demand scan can be issued from the Substation Tabular display:

  1. Call up the Substation Tabular display, and click the Action Options button.

The Options pop-up appears.

From the Options pop-up, select Demand Scan.

An integrity scan is sent to the SCADA Front End, providing you have the proper permission.

In response to the substation integrity scan, the SCADA Front End immediately returns an integrity scan of the last scanned value for every point, analog, and count retrieved to the host SCADA system from this SCADA Front End.

Demand Scan of Analog and Point from a Tabular

A demand scan can be requested on any analog or point telemetered from a remote site or from an SCADA Front End. A demand scan can be issued from the Substation Tabular display:

  1. On the Substation Tabular display, click the Data Quality button.

The Point Details pop-up display appears.

Click the Demand Scan button.

A point integrity scan is sent to the SCADA Front End, providing you have the proper permission.

In response to the point integrity scan, the SCADA Front End issues a demand scan request to the RTU to force a scan of the raw data.
